Disbursed FDI capital hits five-year high
2,865 new FDI projects were granted investment licenses in the January-November period, a rise of 58.1 per cent year-on-year.
The disbursement of FDI capital in Vietnam this year stood at $20.25 billion as of November 20, 2023, the highest level in the 2018-2023 period, the Government News has reported.
Total newly-registered capital, additional capital, and capital contributions and share purchases by foreign investors reached nearly $28.85 billion in the first eleven months of 2023, up 14.8 per cent year-on-year and a slight increase of 0.1 percentage points against the first ten months.
According to the Ministry of Planning and Investment’s Foreign Investment Agency (FIA), 2,865 new projects were granted investment licenses in the January-November period, a rise of 58.1 per cent compared to the same period last year, with total registered capital of over $16.41 billion, up 42.4 per cent.
During the period, 1,152 projects registered to add investment capital totaling over $6.47 billion.
The FIA said that the companionship of the government and the Prime Minister and the close coordination of ministries, sectors, and localities in proactively removing obstacles and legal barriers have enabled enterprises to stabilize and improve production and business activities.
