EXPANSION OF NATIONAL HIGHWAY 22

Location: District 12, Hoc Mon District, Cu Chi District - Ho Chi Minh City. Expanding cross section with scale of 120m, combining to arrange high road with a width of 17.50 m for 4 lanes and the main road has more dedicated bus line.

1. Name of project: Expansion of National highway 22 (Trans-Asia)

 

2. Investor interest: Vietnam Urban and Industrial Zone Development Investment Corporation (IDICO).

 

3. Total estimated investment: 12,850 billion VND.

 

4. Expected size, capacity, location, construction area, the work items, the demand for land use:

- Length of route: 20 km.

- Checking the clearance section compared with the width of status line to build sidewalks, drainage system, based on cleared width, simultaneous move road heart appropriately.

- Building the overhead road (viaduct) includes 04 lanes in the existing median position.

4.1 Location: District 12, Hoc Mon District, Cu Chi District - Ho Chi Minh City.

4.2 Project scope:

Expanding cross section with scale of 120m, combining to arrange high road with a width of 17.50 m for 4 lanes and the main road has more dedicated bus line. Overhead road center line follows existing road center line.

Intersection layout:

- Different-grade connected intersection: will be located at intersections between lines with the highway routes, the city belt roads;

- The remaining intersections: Different-grade unconnected intersections (overhead road going beyond the cross road).

 

5. Compatibility of the project with sectors, project selection criteria:

The construction of the Highway 22 overpass from An Suong to Cu Chi Crossover Bridge is to improve regional transportation network.

 

6. Analysis, preliminary selection of technologies and technical:

6.1 Selecting structures (viaducts):

a / Rhythm structure: continuous beam of steel or reinforced concrete box to increase the urban landscape.

b / Foundation structure, abutment head: Select solutions of abutment foundation piles stay because most projects go through populated areas, ensuring both construction and traffic; To minimize the impact to the residential construction stakes and to avoid impacts on the environment.

6.2 Supply of materials and equipment: Priority using of domestic materials and equipment; only importing materials and equipment which can not be produced domestically.

6.3  The  area  occupies  works  planned:  about 2,400,000m2.

 

7. Estimated construction schedule: about 5 years.

 

8. Preliminary determination of prices, costs of goods and services expected gain from the exploitation of works under current regulations:

The reimbursement of construction capital goes through the exploitation of works (transportation fee, advertising fee, providing services along ...) and exploitation of the land along the route.

 

9. Preliminary determinates the State participation   and   proposing   incentives and mechanisms to ensure the project investment:

State capital participation: 30%. The investor capital: about 70%. The specific rate is depending on the results of project’s research.

State support for the investor:

- The site clearance.

- Access to preferential capital in the country, the international financial institutions.

 

10. Analysis of the overall effectiveness of the project: To improve regional transportation system; to increase traffic capacity on National highway 22 for traveling goods on the trans-Asia highway in / out the seaport.

 

11. Note: This is just the nature of information for reference on the basis of detailed planning study of traffic on National Highway 1A (from Thu Duc intersection to An Lac intersection) and Highway 22 (the trans Asia, from the An Suong intersection to Cu Chi overpass) done by IDICO under the direction of the People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh city.
