Exports of computers, electronics and components earn $52.8 bln in 9M

Exports of computers, electronics and components recorded revenue of $52.8 billion in the first three quarters of 2024, figures from the General Statistics Office (GSO) show.

The figure represents a significant increase of 27.4% compared to the same period last year and accounts for 17.6% of the country’s total export value.

Key export markets include the EU, the US and China.

Meanwhile, Vietnam imported computers, electronics and components worth $79.1 billion in the nine-month period, up 25.8% year-on-year and accounting for 28.4% of the country’s total import turnover.

Many experts forecast that the import value would reach $100 billion this year to meet growth demand of the electronic industry.

Both domestic and foreign businesses have increased investment in this field in Vietnam. Many groups have invested in building facilities producing high-tech electronic products, including Samsung, LG, Foxconn, Fukang Technology and LG Display Hai Phong.
