SaigonTex & SaigonFabric 2023 kicks off in Ho Chi Minh City

The four-day event attracted the participation of more than 300 suppliers from eight countries and territories around the world, including China, Germany, Pakistan, India, Thailand, and Vietnam.

Upon addressing the opening ceremony of SaigonTex & SaigonFabric 2023, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Phan Thi Thang emphasised that the occasion offers a prime opportunity for local garment and textile enterprises to gain access to advanced technologies, thereby providing a basis for future investment orientations.

It has also helped businesses to seek and connect with partners, thereby allowing them to participate more deeply in the global value chain, and gradually increase the localisation rate, she added.

Deputy Minister Thang underlined the need to proactively meet the diverse needs of both domestic and foreign customers and the rules of origin of the free trade agreement, a factor which will contribute to improving the added value of products, developing the garment and textile industry, and helping it to integrate more effectively with the region and the world.

Furthermore, the business community can conduct research, boost production, and promote brands with the ultimate aim of expanding markets and designing investment strategies.

Most notably, a separate "made in Vietnam" space has set up for the first time at the function with the participation of nearly 100 companies.

Meanwhile, a "Business Matching" area is also expected to provide an ideal venue in which firms can gather to strengthen trade exchange among suppliers, brands, and potential buyers in Vietnam, as well as helping them to establish sustainable co-operation.

A series of seminars will be held during the course of event to update policies and seek solutions aimed at supporting textile and garment enterprises to overcome challenges and improve both their production capacity and competitiveness.
