At the meeting, Deputy PM Dung welcomed the delegation and hailed SEMI SEA and its member businesses for partnering with Vietnamese ministries to advance science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation, key drivers for Vietnam’s economic growth in its new development phase.

The Deputy PM shared that the Vietnamese Government aims to maintain double-digit economic growth from 2026 to 2045, striving to become a high-income nation. To realize this goal, the country has identified science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation as strategic choices and foundational pillars for its new growth model.

With the semiconductor industry prioritized to enhance national competitiveness and sustainable development, the Deputy PM asked SEMI SEA to act as a bridge connecting Vietnam with the global semiconductor community.

He urged the association to link its members with Vietnamese partners for investment and expansion, share expertise to help Vietnam integrate deeper into the regional and global semiconductor ecosystem, and promote Vietnam's investment environment to over 3,000 member companies and international partners.

He also laid stress on the importance of cooperation in training high-quality human resources, particularly engineers for the semiconductor and new technology sectors. Furthermore, the Deputy PM assigned the Ministry of Finance to closely coordinate with SEMI SEA to prepare future cooperation programs, enhancing investment promotion efficiency.

For her part, SEMI SEA President Linda Tan expressed a strong desire to accompany and support Vietnam in realizing its semiconductor development vision. She thanked the Ministry of Finance and the National Innovation Center for their long-standing support in growing the SEMI Expo into a key platform connecting Vietnam to the global semiconductor ecosystem. Tan affirmed that member enterprises are committed to long-term cooperation with Vietnam and stand ready to cooperate in identifying potential areas to advance the local semiconductor industry.

Also at the reception, Deputy Ambassador of the Netherlands to Vietnam Rick Slettenhaar praised bilateral cooperation in the semiconductor sector.

He noted that as a key player in the global semiconductor supply chain, the Netherlands is pleased to see Vietnam attracting a growing number of international semiconductor enterprises.

The Dutch diplomat noted a desire to continue coordinating with the Vietnamese Government to ensure transparent, stable, and predictable incentives, thereby building strong confidence among Dutch businesses investing in Vietnam.
