Top Vietnamese legislator leaves for Cuba, Argentina, Uruguay visits
Chairman of the National Assembly (NA) Vuong Dinh Hue and his entourage departed Hanoi on April 18 morning for official visits to Cuba, Argentina and Uruguay from April 18-28.
The visits are made at the invitations of President of the National Assembly of People’s Power of Cuba Esteban Lazo Hernandez, President of the Chamber of Deputies of Argentina Cecilia Moreau, and Speaker of the Senate of Uruguay Beatriz Argimon Cedeira.
Accompanying the top Vietnamese legislator are Vice NA Chairman Tran Quang Phuong, NA Secretary General and Chairman of the NA Office Bui Van Cuong, Chairman of the NA’s Foreign Affairs Committee Vu Hai Ha, Minister of Construction and Chairman of the Vietnam Sub-committee of the Vietnam-Cuba Intergovernmental Committee Nguyen Thanh Nghi, and leaders of many ministries and localities.
Over the past time, the traditional solidarity and special friendship between Vietnam and Cuba have continued to be strengthened in all channels in a more practical and substantive manner.
In particular, Party relations play the role of orientation, consolidating trust and political foundation for the development of comprehensive cooperative relations between the two countries.
The two sides have maintained regular exchange visits at all levels especially at high levels. The Vietnam - Cuba Trade Agreement officially took effect from April 2020 with many new preferential trade commitments, thus creating favorable conditions for the import and export of bilateral goods.
During the official visit to Cuba, NA Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue will hold talks and meetings with Party and State senior leaders, and participate in a broad array of activities to celebrate the 60th founding anniversary of the Cuban Committee for Solidarity with South Vietnam, and launch a number of Vietnamese cultural events in Havana. He will also visit the Vietnamese Embassy, and meet Vietnamese community representatives in the host nation.
