Vietnam encourages UAE businesses to invest in renewable energies

Vietnam encourages businesses from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to invest in areas of interest for the two countries, such as renewable energies, logistics, services, infrastructure, innovation, digital transformation, and the circular economy, according to Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh.

Speaking at a reception for UAE Minister of State for Foreign Trade Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi in Hanoi on June 5, Prime Minister Chinh said Vietnam attaches great importance to the Middle East market and the UAE is one of its leading economic partners in the region.

Two-way trade turnover between Vietnam and UAE hit over $4.4 billion last year.

Prime Minister Chinh proposed that the UAE work with the Ministry of Industry and Trade to finalize negotiations over the Vietnam-UAE Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA).

Minister of State Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi highlighted that Vietnam remains an important partner of the UAE in the region.

The UAE expects to cooperate with Vietnam in trade and investment, especially energy, renewable energy, water consumption efficiency, seaports, healthcare, and high-quality labor exports, he said.
