Vietnam International Trade Fair for Apparel opens in HCMC
The Vietnam International Trade Fair for Apparel, Textiles, and Textile Technologies 2024 will take place in Ho Chi Minh City from Tuesday to Friday. The fair connects producers, material suppliers, and technology providers in the apparel and textile sector.
At the trade fair 400 domestic and foreign enterprises will display environmental-friendly organic fabrics with origin traceability, garment and textiles technology, non-woven fabrics, and print technology.
The event is an opportunity for Vietnamese enterprises to partner with foreign businesses, form value chains from raw materials to final products, and participate in raw material supply to increase localization.
Le Hoang Tai, Deputy Director of the Trade Promotion Department of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, said: ”The fair has the world’s leading enterprises in the textile and garment industry introducing new textile technology and textile raw materials toward green production, environmental protection, and sustainable development. Vietnamese businesses will have opportunities to access new technologies to improve production.”
The Import-Export Department of the Ministry of Industry and Trade says Vietnam’s textile and garment industry production index in January was very positive. Textile production increased more than 46% and apparel production increased 21%.
Than Duc Viet, General Director of the Garment 10 Corporation, said: ”This year we plan to grow more than 7% in revenue and profit. Along with expanding new markets and diversifying products, we’ll also boost domestic market sales.”
Vietnam is the world’s largest exporter of textiles and garments and has room for further expansion. Vietnam’s export target is 44 billion USD this year, 4 billion dollars more than last year.
