Vietnam-Russia trade turnover reaches $2.7 bln in 7M
Vietnam-Russia trade turnover was estimated at $2.7 billion in the first seven months of the year, surging 45% year-on-year, the Government News quoted figures from the General Department of Vietnam Customs as reporting.
Vietnam’s export revenue to Russia reached $1.36 billion, a year-on-year increase of 46%.
Key export items included garment, coffee, seafood, iron and steel, machines and tools.
Russian consumers tend to prefer frozen pangasius fillet products from Vietnam, with over $36 million consumed in June 2024, up 8% compared to the same period in 2023.
Since 2012, Vietnam has remained the second largest supplier of white meat fish to Russia after Argentina. Tuna exports doubled in just three years, from $14 million in 2021 to nearly $29 million last year.
