Vietnam showcases products at Worldfood Moscow 2024
Fifty Vietnamese businesses participated in Worldfood Moscow 2024, a food exhibition held in Moscow, Russia, from September 17-19.
The businesses showcased a wide range of Vietnamese products, including coffee, cinnamon, star anise, cashew nuts, rice, rice products, foodstuffs, pepper, and beverages.
They also partook in a trade exchange delegation between September 15-23. The participation aimed to promote Vietnam's image, businesses, and specialties, as well as increase exports to the Russian market and neighboring regions.
The Vietnam Trade Office in Russia reported that the Vietnamese pavilion attracted a large number of Russian customers and importers from other countries during the early days of Worldfood Moscow 2024.
Ms. Meshcheryakova Elena, head of Strategic Development at Food City Trade Center, noted the increased presence of Vietnamese agricultural products in the Russian market and their growing popularity among Russian consumers.
Mr. Duong Hoang Minh, Vietnam's Trade Counselor to Russia, emphasized the importance of the trade exchange delegation in facilitating cooperation and direct discussions between businesses from both sides.
According to Vietnam Customs, bilateral trade between Vietnam and Russia reached $2.74 billion in the first seven months of 2024, a 45.5% year-on-year increase. Vietnamese commodities exported to Russia such as seafood, rice, candy, and pepper have maintained steady growth.
Mr. Vu Ba Phu, Director General of the Vietnam Trade Promotion Agency at the Ministry of Industry and Trade, attributed the rapid rise in bilateral trade to the Vietnam-Eurasian Economic Union Free Trade Agreement (VN-EAEU FTA).
