VIS trade promotion attracts Chinese buyers and distributors

Organised by the Vietnam Trade Office in China, the event aimed to introduce the scale and business opportunities of VIS 2026 while encouraging Chinese retailers, importers and professional buyers to participate in the exhibition in Vietnam.

The programme also drew companies operating in the new energy and green energy sectors, reflecting growing interest among Chinese businesses in expanding cooperation with Vietnam.

Representatives of the Vietnam Trade Office introduced VIS 2026, which is scheduled to take place from September 3 to 5, 2026, at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Centre (SECC) in Ho Chi Minh City.

The event is expected to bring together more than 400 domestic and international enterprises across approximately 12,000 square meters of exhibition space. It will facilitate more than 3,000 business-to-business (B2B) meetings between Vietnamese suppliers and international buyers.

Officials described VIS as more than a conventional trade exhibition, calling it a direct business-matching platform that connects Vietnamese manufacturers and exporters with global purchasing networks, helping integrate Vietnamese products more deeply into international supply chains.

Chinese companies seek stronger partnerships

During the promotion programme, Chinese retail groups, supermarket chains, importers and e-commerce platforms expressed strong interest in VIS 2026 and welcomed its direct business-matching format.

Many participants indicated plans to attend the event in Vietnam, with particular interest in agricultural products, processed foods, consumer goods and other manufacturing sectors.

According to participating businesses, Vietnam is increasingly establishing itself as an important manufacturing hub in the region, supported by stable production capacity, improving product quality and a growing ability to meet international standards.

These strengths, they noted, align well with China's efforts to diversify sourcing channels amid ongoing changes in global supply chains.

Strengthening sustainable supply chain cooperation

Speaking at the event, Vietnamese Trade Counsellor in China Nong Duc Lai emphasised that promoting VIS 2026 in Beijing plays an important role in strengthening direct business connections between companies from the two countries, helping to expand the network of international buyers participating in the event.

As global supply chains continue to undergo restructuring, direct engagement between suppliers and buyers has become increasingly important for improving business resilience and ensuring stable supply networks, he noted.

Through VIS 2026, Chinese companies will have opportunities to directly assess Vietnam's manufacturing capabilities, conduct B2B meetings with suppliers and explore long-term sourcing partnerships. At the same time, Vietnamese enterprises will gain valuable insights into market demand while expanding distribution channels and strengthening their presence in China.

According to organisers, the Beijing promotion event marks the beginning of efforts to organise Chinese business delegations, importers and purchasing groups to attend VIS 2026 in Vietnam, alongside other major trade promotion activities organised by Vietnam's Ministry of Industry and Trade.

Participants also agreed that beyond traditional merchandise trade, Vietnam and China have considerable potential to expand cooperation in cross-border e-commerce, logistics, supporting industries, value-added processing and supply chain development.

With its focus on direct connections, practical business engagement and long-term partnerships, VIS 2026 is expected to remain a key international sourcing platform, contributing to deeper, more effective and sustainable economic and trade cooperation between Vietnam and China.
