Indonesia initiates anti-dumping probe into Vietnamese plastic

Specifically, the investigated goods include homopolymer polypropylene plastic products classified under HS code 3902.10.40. The party requesting the investigation is PT Chandra Asri Pacific Tbk.

The plaintiff alleged that homopolymer polypropylene plastic products originating from the Vietnamese market and several other countries have been dumped, causing significant damage to the domestic manufacturing industry in Indonesia.

Accordingly, the anti-dumping investigation period is from April, 2023, to March, 2024, while the injury investigation period spans from April, 2021, to March, 2024, with the alleged dumping margin for Vietnam being 13.6%.

The Indonesian Anti-Dumping Commission (KADI) stated that it has sent the investigation questionnaire directly to the manufacturers/exporters named in the petition, recommending that other related parties register to participate in the case within 14 days from the date of the initiation notice, which is no later than 16:00 p.m. on December 17, 2024 (Indonesia time).

In response to the incident, the TRAV advised relevant local associations and manufacturing and exporting enterprises to fully co-operate with the investigation agency and to keep in contact with the TRAV for timely support.
