PM meets with Vietnamese Innovation Network in Europe

During his official visit to the Czech Republic, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh met with the Vietnam Innovation Network in Europe (VINEU) and Vietnamese experts in Prague on January 19 (local time).

The PM was quoted by the Government News as praising the efforts made by the Ministry of Planning and Investment in establishing and developing the Vietnam Innovation Networks around the world as well as the active contributions of network members and Vietnamese experts in Europe.

The Government leader called on VINEU members to continue to promote connection with the National Innovation Center; actively contribute opinions and participate in building guidelines, institutions, mechanisms and policies; promote research and technology transfer and human resource training and management capacity improvement; and contribute to the current priority goal of economic growth in the homeland.

The Government will continue to improve specific mechanisms and policies to promote innovation, attract talents, support projects and research topics, he said.

The PM tasked the Ministry of Planning and Investment, the Ministry of Science and Technology and relevant agencies to continue to strengthen connections with VINEU members, intellectuals, and Vietnamese experts abroad; concretize their programs, ideas, and proposals in a bid to help the homeland in a new era – the era of the nation's rise for prosperity.

At the meeting, Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung said that so far, 10 Vietnamese innovation networks have been established in developed countries and regions with about 2,000 members.

On this occasion, Vietnamese experts and businessmen in Europe shared experiences and put forth recommendations for Vietnam to develop a number of key areas.
