Tay Ninh expands investment opportunities with Belgium
At the conference, Secretary of the Tay Ninh provincial Party Committee, Nguyen Van Quyet said the strong cooperative relationship between Vietnam and Belgium, together with the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA), is creating new opportunities for businesses from both sides to expand investment and trade and participate more deeply in global value chains.
According to Nguyen Van Quyet, Tay Ninh has an economic scale of more than US$14 billion, ranking among Vietnam’s top 10 localities by economic size, and holds a strategic position connecting Ho Chi Minh City with several ASEAN countries.
Tay Ninh is poised to become a trusted partner of the Belgian business community, particularly in circular economy, clean energy, environmental technology, biotechnology and advanced agriculture, he emphasized
He also said Tay Ninh always welcomes Belgian investors and provides favourable conditions for them to explore opportunities, cooperate and pursue long-term development in the province.
Vietnamese Ambassador to Belgium Nguyen Van Thao highlighted Tay Ninh as a locality with strong potential to attract a new wave of investment from Europe thanks to its strategic location.
According to the ambassador, as EVFTA continues to generate positive results, many Belgian businesses are showing growing interest in expanding cooperation in Vietnam, particularly in logistics, green industry, high-tech agriculture and sustainable development.
Introducing the province’s investment environment, Vice Chairman of Tay Ninh People’s Committee Huynh Van Son said the province currently has more than 2,000 active investment projects with total registered capital of around US$ 26 billion, placing it among the country’s leading destinations for foreign direct investment.
Tay Ninh was recently ranked among the top three localities with the most outstanding reform achievements in Vietnam over the 20-year PCI journey (2005-2025), demonstrating the province’s efforts to improve the investment climate and support businesses.
The province is seeking to attract more Belgian investors in sectors including high-tech agriculture, human resources training, smart cities, artificial intelligence and digital transformation.
At the conference, many businesses operating in Belgium said Tay Ninh offers strong potential, a favourable investment environment and supportive policies for investors.
Representatives of several businesses said the province has provided timely support during project implementation, particularly in licensing procedures and investment facilitation.
One of the highlights of the conference was the signing ceremony of a memorandum of understanding between the Association of Vietnamese Intellectuals in Belgium and Luxembourg and Tay Ninh province.
The MoU aims to enhance connections between overseas Vietnamese experts and intellectuals and the province in scientific research, innovation and high-quality human resources development.
The conference also witnessed the granting of an investment registration certificate for the Be Milk dairy production plant project by Swiss Asia Partner at Prodezi Industrial Park in Luong Hoa commune, Tay Ninh province, with total investment exceeding US$100 million.
The project’s certification at the conference shows the confidence of European businesses in Tay Ninh’s investment environment and demonstrates concrete progress in the province’s efforts to improve the business climate and support investors.
Through investment promotion activities in Belgium, Tay Ninh set to attract additional investment capital while expanding access to advanced technology, modern governance models and sustainable development solutions, as it continues to affirm its position as an attractive destination for international investors.
